What’s your all-time (big or small) favorite Smith memory?
The summer after we got sent home due to COVID, I was still in Northampton and was taking campus photos for the Smith Instagram. There was an evening where the light was just perfect—the sky was so pink and purple—and the campus was empty. I got to just walk around in the cool summer air and take a ton of photos. My girlfriend came with me and we had the best time savoring the lush greens of campus and dancing around. Honestly, I have felt really lucky to have had a work-study job that allowed me to observe so many aspects of campus up-close. I feel that I have connected with Smith on a much deeper level than I would have without constantly photographing it, and the beauty of the campus has always made me feel so thankful that I am here.

If you could have any superhuman power, what would it be?
I would love to be able to be invisible. I think it would be so handy.
Did you ever have trouble deciding on a major? What, ultimately, helped you decide?
I thought for a while I might be an English major because I’ve always loved writing. But as I took more and more classes in the Art History department, I knew that that was where I belonged. Writing about art is my favorite thing! I also included a picture from the day I declared my major.
What spot on campus will you miss the most?
I will miss Capen Garden the most. It’s so lovely in every season and I have an infinite amount of beautiful/fun memories from that space. It’s perfect for being with friends or being alone.
If you could tell an incoming first-year anything about Smith, what would it be?
The Hillyer doors open toward the outside.
Name one thing still on your bucket list.
I want to publish a children’s book! That’s a goal of mine for some point in my life.
