“Headline: the unthinkable’s already, already / happened again” begins one poem in Franny Choi’s third full-length poetry collection, The World Keeps Ending, and the World Goes On (Ecco/HarperCollins, 2022), a devastating book that interrogates the myriad ways in which, for marginalized people in America, the apocalypse arrived long ago. Choi is the author of two previous collections, Soft Science (Alice James Books, 2019) and Floating, Brilliant, Gone (Write Bloody Publishing, 2014), as well as a chapbook, Death by Sex Machine (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2017). Choi is a recipient of Princeton’s Holmes National Poetry Prize, and a graduate of the University of Michigan's Helen Zell Writers Program. The founder of Brew & Forge, a collective of writers dedicated to building capacity for liberation, justice, and survival, Choi teaches literature and creative writing at Bennington College.

Choi will read at Leo Weinstein Auditorium in Wright Hall on Tuesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. Livestreams will be available on BDPC Facebook and YouTube pages.
