Anthropologist Caroline Melly planned to conduct a research project focusing on technological innovation and development in contemporary Dakar, Senegal. That all changed, though, after her infant son was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy, and she discovered an underground world of medical cannabis. Here Melly talks about her new book project, which builds on research into the contemporary politics of medical marijuana in the United States and beyond.
