Making Reports Related to Discrimination, October 9, 2020

Dear staff and faculty:

The Office for Equity and Inclusion (OEI) provides you and other members of the Smith community with resources for reporting incidents of discrimination and/or gender-based or sexual misconduct. Please read the descriptions below to learn more about different resolution options, including online reporting.

Under Smith College’s Notice of Nondiscrimination policies, you are protected from discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national/ethnic origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, genetic information, age, disability or service in the military or other uniformed services.

If you believe you or someone you know has experienced discrimination and/or gender-based or sexual misconduct, there are several channels you can use for reporting and for getting support. You can contact our Director of Equal Opportunity and Compliance/Title IX Coordinator or speak with your supervisor or the college’s ombudsperson. Reports also can be made online through EthicsPoint, Smith College’s conduct and ethics reporting system. When filing via EthicsPoint, you may choose to file anonymously, though filing anonymously may limit the college’s ability to respond.

If you have any questions about reporting or need more information about this email, please contact the Office for Equity and Inclusion at oei@smith.edu.

Additional employee support can be found through the college’s Employee Assistance Program.

Sincerely,

Amy Hunter
