Presidential Search
In March 2022, the Smith College Board of Trustees appointed a 15-member search committee to identify and recommend a candidate to succeed President Kathleen McCartney upon her retirement in June 2023. The committee is chaired by Smith alumna and trustee Susan Molineaux ’75.
On March 30 and 31, 2022, representatives from Spencer Stuart, a global executive search and leadership advisory firm, engaged the broader Smith community in discussions about leadership for the college’s future. The committee will communicate regularly about developments in the search process.
Introducing Smith’s 12th President
On September 15, 2022, the board of trustees introduced Sarah Willie-LeBreton as the college’s 12th president. Willie-LeBreton will take office on July 1, 2023.
