Extending Our Subscription to Calm

Letters to the Community
February 12, 2021

Dear students, staff and faculty:

Last spring the college purchased a license for Calm, the relaxation and meditation app, to help each of us navigate the stress of the pandemic. Because so many of you have told me how much you are enjoying the app, I am pleased to announce that we are extending this benefit through March 21, 2022.

To date, 1,800 Smith community members have signed up for the app, with an average of 1,500 listening sessions per week. If you have not yet tried Calm, I encourage you to do so. I have found the daily 10-minute meditations to be very helpful.

If you have already signed up for Calm through the college, your account access will continue—there is nothing more you need to do. If you would like to sign up for Calm for the first time, you can go to https://www.calm.com/b2b/smith-college/subscribe or you can download the Calm app from the Apple iTunes store on iOS devices or the Google Play Store on Android devices. Create an account using your name and your Smith College email address. Once you sign up, you will automatically have access to your free Calm subscription.

This FAQ is helpful for those who have used Calm in the past and need help connecting your existing account to the college subscription. It includes instructions and links for how to download the app and update email addresses.

Take care and be well.

Sincerely,

Kathleen McCartney
President
