Praxis Funding & Internship Credit

Smith has a strong commitment to ensuring students are able to participate in experiential learning opportunities that will allow them to connect their academic endeavors with robust experience in their field of interest. Praxis funding supports students participating in qualified unpaid summer or interterm internships. Internship Credit provides .25 credit for qualifying summer internships, and may be used up to 3 times during a student’s time at Smith.

- Supervisor Confirmation
- Faculty Adviser Sign-Off
- Written Statements

After
• Final Activity Report
• Supervisor Verification of Internship Completion

CREDIT

Before
• Praxis with Credit application, which includes:
- Supervisor Confirmation
- Faculty Adviser Sign-Off
- Written Statements
• Must relate to major, minor or concentration
• International students apply for CPT (CPT internships must relate to major)

During
• Weekly journal throughout internship.

After 
• Final Activity Report
• Final Reflective Essay
• Supervisor Verification of Internship Completion
