Astronomy and Physics
What clubs, sports and other activities are you normally involved in?
I'm involved in the physics and astronomy class along with being part of the Exoplanet Transit Research Team, which is supervised by Professor Lowenthal. I've also been the TA for some astronomy classes.
If you could tell alums one thing about yourself and your friends, what would it be?
We're very outgoing and always down for an adventure!
What are you most looking forward to about campus?
Seeing all my friends and walking around campus when the leaves start turning colors!
What would you say is your biggest passion?
My biggest passion is astronomy. I love stargazing and reading about new theories on how the universe works.
What is something unexpected that people don’t know about you?
I'm adopted!
If you could have any superhuman power, what would it be?
Teleportation, to go to different galaxies and planets.
What do you think has been the most “Smithie” thing you’ve done in life so far?
I think the most "Smithie" thing I've done so far is host prospective students! It was really fun and I was beyond happy to see the student I hosted become a Smithie.
What's one message you'd say to incoming students or one thing you'd tell them about being at Smith?
Smith is full of people from all over the world, which makes it a great place to be yourself and to get out of your comfort zone. There are a lot of great traditions and many ways to get involved on campus (as well as off-campus), you will find your place and people here!
Is there any other message you'd like to include to the wider Smith community?
I'm rooting for all of us to have a great semester!
Smithie Snapshots is a new profile series highlighting members of the Smith community, located all over the world.
