About the Sophomore & Ada Comstock Scholars Dean
Andrea Rossi-Reder is the dean of the sophomore and Ada Comstock Scholars classes. She holds a master’s and doctorate in medieval studies from the University of Connecticut, and a bachelor’s in medieval studies from Mount Holyoke College. She was a class dean at Connecticut College for 11 years before coming to Smith.
Dean Rossi-Reder has lived in Italy and England, where she studied medieval bestiaries and Anglo-Latin manuscripts. She taught courses in medieval literature, British women’s contemporary literature and Latin at The College of Idaho, Baylor University and Connecticut College. Her hobbies include cooking and painting.
