Residential living is vital for your education, you will be living, studying and socializing with roommates, housemates and friends from around the world—all with varied and distinctive backgrounds and experiences.
To support Smith’s goals, the Office of Residence Life values learning, social justice and diversity, community, connections and balance. Each of these departmental core values informs how we do our work, train student leaders and try to create an inclusive community.

The Compass | Smith College
Residence Education Model
The Compass, Smith College’s residence education model, guides the learning that happens for residential students within Smith College houses. A model deeply based in the institutional mission, the Compass strives to help students achieve learning goals with measurable outcomes.
